About Apollo Herbs:

Apollo Herbs® is a business dedicated to the art & science of herbal medicine. By growing, harvesting, & extracting healing plants, we seek to provide the community with the highest quality herbal products available. All of our products are made in small batches using the highest quality organically grown or wild harvested plants available. Apollo Herbs® are skillfully formulated and produced by botanist and pharmacognocist, Michael Ford. In addition to manufacturing excellent products, it is also our goal to provide quality herbal education to the community with the hope that those around us will live their daily lives with a deeper understanding and respect for nature, as well as use herbs to promote good health as part of a holistic lifestyle which includes a balanced, nutritious diet, frequent exercise, and proper stress management.

Michael Ford, M.S., M.A., is a herbalist, botanist, pharmacognosist, artist, and educator. He is the owner of Apollo Herbs®, a herb company which he founded in 1991, after completing an apprenticeship with master herbalist, Rosemary Gladstar. Previously, Michael studied Painting & Illustration at The Rhode Island School of Design, then he began learning about herbs. In 1993 Michael began teaching classes about herbs and now each year he offers the Essence of Herbalism Apprentice Program for aspiring herbalists. Michael holds five degrees from the University of RI- three bachelors degrees in Botany, Biology & Classics and two masters degrees- M.S. in Pharmacognosy/Natural Product Chemistry and M.A. in  Education. His future plans include writing and illustrating a book on herbal medicine, as well as continuing to learn, teach, practice herbalism & travel.
